Guingamp 0 - 1 Nice: Younes Belhanda sends Nice back to the top of Ligue 1

A solitary Younes Belhanda goal helped Nice return to winning ways and back to the top of Ligue 1 thanks to a 1-0 victory in Guingamp.

A disappointing draw at home last time out to Bastia meant extra pressure was placed on Lucien Favre's side, and they duly responded.

They took the lead after just five minutes when Jean Seri played in Belhanda who beat defender Jordan Ikoko before dispatching a clinical finish into the top corner.

The visitors continued to press and Dante was unfortunate not to double their lead after his header came back off the crossbar with home goalkeeper Karl-Johan Johnsson well beaten.

Johnsson saved his team soon after, doing superbly well to deny Alassane Plea who had burst through on goal as Nice looked to wrap up the points in the opening 45 minutes.

Yoan Cardinale made a smart save from Yannis Salibur's direct free-kick on the stroke of half-time but that was as close as the hosts went to levelling.

Nice had chances to double their advantage early in the second half but another Dante header was kept out, this time by Johnsson, before the keeper also did well to deny Valentin Eysseric.

Guingamp had a couple of chances late on to steal a point, but Nill De Pauw failed to make the most of a decent opportunity inside the area before Moustapha Diallo's header from Ikoko's delivery was gathered by Cardinale.
