Hertha BSC Berlin 2 - 1 Mainz: Hertha Berlin up to third after beating Mainz

Hertha Berlin came from behind to beat Mainz 2-1 and move up to third in the Bundesliga after a game which saw both sides reduced to 10 men.
Aaron Seydel marked his Bundesliga debut with the opening goal in the 35th minute, and he might not get many easier in his career as the ball fell kindly to his feet six yards out to be tucked away.
Salomon Kalou's cheap loss of possession in midfield paved the way for that goal, but he made amends with a pass which Vedad Ibisevic dragged neatly onto his right foot to shoot low past Jonas Lossl and bring Hertha back on terms.
Mainz were reduced to 10 men when Jean-Philippe Gbamin was shown a second yellow card after an hour and it was not long before Ibisevic brought up his century of Bundesliga strikes to put Hertha in front.
He ruined his evening by earning a second yellow card shortly after, but Hertha held on to all three points.
