Chesterfield vs Bristol Rovers - Chesterfield set for unchanged squad as Spireites deal with lengthy injury list

Chesterfield manager Danny Wilson expects to have an unchanged squad for the visit of Bristol Rovers.

That means Wilson, a former Bristol City boss, will once more have to cope with a lengthy injury list which includes Ched Evans (ankle), fellow striker Conor Wilkinson (knee), midfielder Angel Martinez (knee), defenders Sam Hird (hernia), Liam Graham (knee), Dan Jones (ankle) and Paul McGinn (hamstring) and goalkeeper Tommy Lee (shoulder).

Midfielders Jon Nolan and Dan Gardner returned from injury against MK Dons in midweek and could be pushing for starting places on Saturday.

Striker Kristian Dennis did his hopes of a recall no harm by scoring as a substitute, as Gardner did, at Stadium:mk as Chesterfield halted a miserable eight-match losing run in League One with a 3-2 win.

Rovers have defensive problems with on-loan Chelsea youngster Jake Clarke-Salter joining James Clarke on the sidelines.

England Under-19 international Clarke-Salter suffered a fractured elbow in Tuesday night's 5-1 home defeat to Charlton and is expected to be out for up to 12 weeks.

Peter Hartley is likely to partner skipper Tom Lockyer in central defence as Rovers seek to plug the gaps which saw them leak nine goals against Millwall and Charlton.

Charlie Colkett, Billy Bodin and Ollie Clarke could all be in contention to start after being on the bench in midweek.
