Besiktas JK vs SL Benfica - Gunes wants 'beautiful football and a good result' when Besiktas face Benfica

Besiktas coach Senol Gunes feels his side must approach their crunch Champions League Group B match against Benfica just as they have all the other fixtures so far this season.

The Black Eagles, currently second in the Turkish Super Lig and undefeated from 11 games, have yet to lose from four European ties, albeit having secured just one victory away at Napoli.

With Dynamo Kiev bottom on one point, it appears there will be a three-way shoot-out to secure a top-two finish.

Defeat against Benfica coupled with victory for Napoli at home to Dynamo would, however, consign Besiktas to a place in the Europa League ahead of their final fixture in Kiev.

No matter what the permutations, Gunes wants his side to remain focused on the immediate task at hand.

"Our aim is the same as ever: beautiful football and a good result. After four games, we have yet to be outclassed by any of our Champions League opponents," Gunes said at a press conference.

"We are doing good things in the league and in the Champions League.

"Benfica, just like Napoli, are a side that defends well and uses the flanks very well."

Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup knows there is little margin for error given how tight Group B is, with just a point currently separating the top clubs.

"We know the importance of tomorrow's match," he said.

"A win and we could secure a top place finish, and with the worst result we could have a chance of not qualifying."

Benfica, meanwhile, head to Istanbul knowing victory would guarantee progress to the knockout stage ahead of their showdown against Napoli in Lisbon.

Coach Rui Vitoria, though, accepts it will be no easy ride at the Vodafone Arena.

"We have to leave everything on the field, with the required level of concentration, selflessness and quality," he said to Sport TV.

"We need to be a team with the mental strength and ambition to win this game."
