Hartlepool vs Accrington - Hartlepool to assess Liam Donnelly ahead of Accrington game

Posted Monday, November 21, 2016 by PA

Defender Liam Donnelly remains a doubt for Hartlepool's home clash with Accrington.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 international missed Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Doncaster with a knee injury sustained against Cheltenham and will be assessed.

Goalkeeper Trevor Carson was fit to start against Rovers after dislocating his finger against the Robins and he will continue.

Centre-back Rob Jones made his return from a hip problem as a substitute against his former club and will be involved once again, but Carl Magnay (knee) and Nathan Thomas (groin) are long-term absentees.

Zak Vyner returned to Accrington's line-up for their 1-0 defeat against Stevenage on Saturday and the on-loan Bristol City defender should keep his place.

Shay McCartan recovered from illness to start against Boro and fellow forward Billy Kee was okay to come off the bench and both are likely to feature.

Full-back Janoi Donacien has undergone ankle surgery and misses out.

Stanley have lost their last three Sky Bet League Two matches and lie 15th in the table, one point and three places above Hartlepool.
