Lahm enjoying Leipzig challenge

After FC Bayern München’s 1-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday blew the title race wide open, Phillip Lahm is relishing the challenge posed by RB Leipzig.
Lepizig remain the only unbeaten team in the Bundesliga this season, with the newly-promoted club defying all odds to top the standings after 11 matches.
Eight wins and three draws have taken them three points clear of the chasing pack, and Lahm feels Bayern’s defeat to Dortmund was good for the league as Leipzig create a more competitive environment.
“What’s there to say? We lost. The last pass was missing for us, especially in the first half,” he said after the game.
“We had plenty of chances, while Dortmund only had a few, but we didn’t take our chances and that’s why we lost today.
“It’s great for the league [that Leipzig are now top of the league].”
