Greenock 0 - 0 Dundee United: Dundee United draw blank at Cappielow

Posted Sunday, November 20, 2016 by PA

Dundee United lost ground on Ladbrokes Championship leaders Hibernian following a goalless draw with Morton at Cappielow.

Charlie Telfer should have done better for the visitors when he blazed his effort over the bar in the opening minute of the match, with Frank van der Struijk also spurning a decent opportunity for the Tangerines.

Scott Fraser shot wide as United continued to keep the pressure on the Morton goal with Simon Murray and Blair Spittal also missing good chances as the away side struggled to make the breakthrough.

Jai Quitongo and Mark Russell threatened for the hosts before Jamie Robson forced a save from Morton goalkeeper Derek Gaston in the dying moments as the two sides shared the spoils to put the visitors three points off the top in second place.
