Dumbarton 0 - 0 Raith Rovers: Sons draw blank against Rovers

Posted Sunday, November 20, 2016 by PA

Dumbarton were forced to settle for a point from a goalless draw with Raith in the Ladbrokes Championship.

Raith had the first sight of goal three minutes in when Declan McManus hit the side netting, but they were soon forced onto the back foot as Donald McCallum enjoyed a bright start for the hosts.

Dumbarton had the better of the first-half chances and they came out with positive intent after the restart, with Sam Stanton having an effort saved by Kevin Cuthbert.

The Raith goalkeeper had to be alert to deny Robert Thomson before pushing a McCallum strike behind as he continued to frustrate the hosts.

David Smith went closer still in stoppage time when he hit the bar to round off a frustrating afternoon for Dumbarton.
