Darmstadt 0 - 1 FC Ingolstadt 04: Walpurgis off to winning start as Ingolstadt stop rot
Posted Sunday, November 20, 2016 by PA
Maik Walpurgis marked his first game in charge of Ingolstadt with a win as the Bavarians picked up their first victory of the season in Darmstadt.
Moritz Hartmann scored the all-important goal in the 68th minute, volleying in Lukas Hinterseer's headed pass.
The visitors had been under the cosh until then, with Anis Ben-Hatira missing an excellent chance and Ingolstadt goalkeeper Martin Hansen producing some fine stops.
Ingolstadt held on to record their first win since April 9 and move to within three points of their hosts, who sit just above the relegation zone.
