Plymouth Argyle vs Grimsby Town - Nauris Bulvitis misses out for Plymouth's match with Grimsby

Plymouth defender Nauris Bulvitis will miss their Sky Bet League Two clash against Grimsby after suffering a calf injury.

The former Latvia international suffered the injury during their 2-0 defeat against Swansea City Under-23s in the EFL Trophy and Pilgrims boss Derek Adams confirmed that Bulvitis will miss their next two games.

Yann Songo'o should deputise in Bulvitis' absence while striker Paul-Arnold Garita could feature after being named on the bench against Crewe last week.

Defender Oscar Threlkeld (knee) edged closer to full fitness after returning to training this week.

Grimsby have no fresh injury concerns for the trip to the League Two leaders.

The promotion-chasing Mariners, winless in five matches in all competitions, remain without Ben Davies (calf) and Sean McAllister (groin).

Josh Venney has returned to training so could be in contention.

Tom Bolarinwa scored a hat-trick in a reserve team fixture and could be pressing for a starting spot.
