Sheffield United vs Shrewsbury Town - Scougall pushing for start against Shrewsbury

Posted Friday, November 18, 2016 by PA

Sheffield United midfielder Stefan Scougall is pushing for a recall to the starting line-up for the home game against Shrewsbury.

Scougall missed last Sunday's 4-1 win at Chesterfield as a tight hamstring restricted him to bench duty, but the Scot has had a full week's training.

Fellow midfielder Louis Reed, on-loan Middlesbrough winger Harry Chapman and goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale have all returned from international duty unscathed.

Defender James Wilson and Chris Hussey returned to training this week following injury, but will not feature as the Blades bid to extend their unbeaten Sky Bet League One run to 13 matches.

Shrewsbury are likely to be without Junior Brown who is struggling with a hamstring injury.

The midfielder has missed training this week and, while he could return before Saturday's trip to Bramall Lane, manager Paul Hurst may not want to risk him.

Defender Joe Riley had knee surgery last month and is expected to make his comeback just before Christmas having not played for almost a month.

Shaun Whalley has suffered no ill-effects from his return from a calf problem and Jayson Leutwiler and Ryan McGivern return from international duty.
