Port Vale vs Fleetwood Town - Port Vale duo set to return against Fleetwood

Anton Forrester and Alex Jones could return to the Port Vale squad against Fleetwood.

Forrester marked his comeback from a hamstring injury by playing 45 minutes for the reserves on Tuesday afternoon, while Jones has resumed training after a knee problem.

Jak Alnwick will return in goal, replacing Miguel Santos, and it remains to be seen if any of the other five changes to the team that played against Doncaster in midweek - Calvin Mac-Intosch, Sam Hart, Anthony de Freitas, Quentin Pereira and Dan Turner - will retain their places.

Coach Andy Smith was full of praise for Turner, telling the club's official website: "I thought he did well, he worked extremely hard and put himself about well. He didn't get as much service as we wanted, but he did himself proud and put in a good performance."

Aaron Amadi-Holloway is in line to return to Fleetwood's squad for the first time in almost three months in the league.

The striker suffered a hamstring injury in August but was in the starting XI and on the scoresheet in the Checkatrade Trophy defeat against Carlisle.

However, Martyn Woolford limped off early in that game and is unlikely to be available.

The visitors slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Bristol Rovers in their last league encounter earlier this month.
