Dundee United 1 - 0 Dunfermline: Simon Murray strike helps Dundee United see off Dunfermline

Posted Wednesday, November 09, 2016 by PA

Simon Murray scored the only goal as Dundee United beat 10-man Dunfermline 1-0 to move level on points with Hibernian at the top of the table.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men six minutes before the break when Nat Wedderburn was given his marching orders for a foul on Tony Andreu.

Dundee United had a good opportunity to break the deadlock just before the interval but Dunfermline goalkeeper Sean Murdoch produced a smart save to keep the scores level.

The hosts finally made a breakthrough in the 79th minute when Murray fired in from six yards out to hand Ray McKinnon's side all three points.
