Feyenoord suffered their first loss in the Eredivisie this season which allowed Ajax to close in on the early pace-setters in Sunday's league fixtures.

After looking invincible in their opening 11 games, with nine wins and two draws, Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side suffered a shock defeat to rock-bottom Go Ahead Eagles at De Adelaarshorst.
Jarchinio Antonia's goal on the half-hour mark was the only goal of the game as De Stadion Club allowed second-placed Ajax to creep two points behind them – after their 2-2 draw with AZ.
Wout Werghorst scored a goal in each half in between Davy Klaasen and Bertand Traore's second-half goals at the AFAS Stadion.
In the earlier games, Utrecht moved up to eighth spot in the standings with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Excelsior, who are now on a six-match losing streak.
Yassin Ayoub and Nacer Barazite scored two early second-half goals to put the home side in full control at the Galgenwaard.
However, against the run of play Mitchell van der Gaag's men grabbed a consolation seven minutes from time through diminutive forward Stanley Albers.
Ninth-placed Vitesse missed a chance to move further up the table with a 2-1 loss at the GelreDome to Heracles, who climbed up to 12th spot.
Ricky van Wolkswinkel opened the scoring just before the hour mark but a late fightback from Heraclieden earned them all thee points.
Brahim Darri's cultured finish in the 61st minute leveled matters before a late penalty from Kristiano Armenteros sealed the win for John Stegeman's men.
Sunday's Eredivisie results:
Utrecht 2-1 Excelsior
AZ 2-2 Ajax
Vitesse 1-2 Heracles
