Massimo Maccarone's double helped Empoli to an emphatic 4-0 win at Pescara and their first success on the road in Serie A this season.
The veteran former Middlesbrough striker Maccarone scored twice in the first half either side of setting up Manuel Pucciarelli for Empoli's second and Riccardo Saponara added a fourth in the closing stages.
Maccarone, 37, set Empoli on their way to their second league win of the season and their first in nine matches when he lashed home the opening goal in the 12th minute from inside the penalty area after being played in by Pucciarelli.
Maccarone returned the favour by teeing up Pucciarelli inside the box 11 minutes later, with the latter firing into the bottom corner.
Empoli put the game beyond Pescara with their third goal just before half-time when Maccarone applied another low finish after being set up Saponara, whose angled drive in the 89th minute sealed the visitors' biggest win of the season.
Pescara went closest through substitute Stefano Pettinari, who headed against the crossbar in stoppage time.
