Hartlepool United FC vs Stamford AFC - Groin injury rules Thomas out of Hartlepool's cup tie
Posted Friday, November 04, 2016 by PA
Hartlepool will be without winger Nathan Thomas for Saturday's FA Cup first round tie against Stamford.
Thomas will have to undergo surgery after sustaining a groin injury against Barnet last weekend.
Defender Liam Donnelly is also out as he serves a one-game suspension for being sent off against the Bees.
Matthew Bates and Rob Jones are both back in full training and could feature.
Northern Premier League Stamford will be without recent signing Taylor Rhiney.
The winger came off the bench to score a superb goal in Monday night's 3-2 defeat by Basford.
But unfortunately for the Daniels, Rhiney is cup-tied having already played in the competition for previous club Arlesey Town.
Stamford beat Wrexham in the previous round but have lost their last three matches in the league.
