Ryman Premier Division side Merstham welcome League One Oxford to their Moatside home for their FA Cup first-round clash on Saturday, with manager Hayden Bird suffering from a selection headache.

Bird has been in sole charge of the Surrey side since 2012 and the visit of The U's is arguably the biggest game in the history of the club.

Merstham prepared for their high-profile clash with a 5-0 FA Trophy win at Waltham Abbey last weekend, with both Kristian Campbell and Omal Folkot doing their selection chances no harm as both bagged a brace for the seventh-tier outfit.

Bird has no fresh injury worries since that game and, with their trip to Needham Market on Tuesday night postponed, has a squad of players desperate to play in the televised fixture.

Oxford manager Michael Appleton has confirmed that he will make changes to his side.

Wes Thomas and Ryan Ledson both returned to training following calf and knee injuries respectively with the latter completing 90 minutes of football during a development games against Nike Academy on Tuesday.

Rob Hall also featured in that game following a long-term knee injury and is in contention to make the bench.

Defender Sam Long will miss out with a hamstring problem while loanee Charlie Raglan is unavailable with parent club Chesterfield not wanting him to become cup-tied.
