Coventry vs Chesterfield - Andy Rose passed fit for Coventry's clash with Chesterfield

Coventry midfielder Andy Rose is expected to be fit enough to be available for the Sky Bet League One clash against Chesterfield.

Rose has passed a fitness test ahead of Tuesday night's home game, having been forced off with a thigh injury at Walsall at the weekend, although it remains to be seen whether he will retain his place in the starting line up.

Chris McCann's hamstring tear will keep him on the sidelines along with Vladimir Gadzhev, who is set to see a specialist about his knee problem.

Caretaker boss Mark Venus has won three of his five matches in charge and is also still without striker Kwame Thomas (groin) and defender Chris Stokes (knee).

While Coventry are a side growing in confidence, Chesterfield are struggling and five straight defeats without a goal have seen them slump into the bottom four.

On-loan central defender Tom Anderson will be absent again after a one-match ban and Blues boss Danny Wilson must decide whether he goes straight back into the team or if Ian Evatt, recalled on Saturday, keeps his place.

One or two Spireites are nursing knocks after the defeat at Charlton but Wilson hopes there will be no more new injury absentees.

Right-back Paul McGinn (hamstring), striker Conor Wilkinson (knee), midfielder Angel Martinez (knee) and goalkeeper Tommy Lee (shoulder) remain out.
