Man United boss Jose Mourinho set for second stadium ban: This could be for two games

JOSE MOURINHO is facing a stadium ban for the second time in two seasons after the latest in a long history of bust-ups with referees - and because of his past record of misdemeanours the ban could be for two games.

Mourinho is set to be told to stay away from Manchester United's away trip to Swansea on Sunday and the home game with Arsenal on November 19.

He was sent to the stands by referee Mark Clattenburg at half-time of Saturday's 0-0 draw with Burnley after a verbal clash over the Tyne and Wear official's decision not to award a penalty, when Matteo Darmian appeared to be tripped by Jon Flanagan.

Last season Mourinho was banned from attending Chelsea's visit to Stoke - he watched the game in the team hotel - after a heated protest to referee Jon Moss during a defeat at West Ham.

In that case, an Independent Regulatory Commission took into account his past record of indiscipline and felt that a fine was not enough deterrent.

He was given a one-game ban with a further match suspension added but suspended for a year depending on his behaviour.

Even though that time period has now expired, Mourinho is bracing himself for two games this time with the FA determined to bring him into line.

FA disciplinary officials are waiting to see Clattenburg's report before making the inevitable decision whether to charge him with misconduct. It is the second time already this season Mourinho has been in hot water with the game's governing body.

He has until 6pm today to accept a charge of misconduct for commenting about Anthony Taylor's appointment to referee United's fixture at Liverpool earlier this month.
