Janssen scored a penalty in the 2-1 loss to Liverpool on Tuesday evening – his second spot-kick in as many EFL Cup games.
Other than the in the football league cup, the Netherlands international has found goals hard to come by, drawing a blank in both the league and Champions League encounters.
In the absence of injured Harry Kane, the former AZ man has been criticised for not being able to fill the boots of the England striker but his manager feels fans and media need to be patient.
"I think he was fantastic. He played very well, he made a big effort and he scored. We are very happy with him," he told the club's website.
"We need to understand that he's 22, he's come in from the Netherlands, a different league, and always we need to give time.
"But one thing is clear, that he is a player who works a lot, who is always involved and the commitment he shows in every game and every training session is fantastic."
