Pep Guardiola has vowed to inflict more misery on Manchester United
PEP GUARDIOLA has vowed to pile more humiliation on Jose Mourinho by winning tonight's Manchester derby with his shadow squad.
Guardiola will make several changes to his Manchester City team for the League Cup fourth round tie at Old Trafford even though a defeat would create an unwanted personal record for him as a manager of six games without a victory.
But the Spaniard remains confident his blend of squad players and youngsters can pull off a repeat of City's Premier League victory at Old Trafford last month against a Manchester United side still reeling from Sunday's 4-0 defeat to Mourinho's former club Chelsea.
He said: "I will rotate my squad.
"Some of the youngsters will play. First, because they deserve to and secondly because we had two tough games against Barcelona and Southampton and some players are tired.
"But I am pretty sure we will have the level to play and be good.
"A derby is special. And we are going to play seriously and try to win the game."
Kevin De Bruyne, Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna are injured while Claudio Bravo, John Stones, David Silva, Fernandinho, Raheem Sterling, Ilkay Gundogan and Aleks Kolarov could all be rested after playing against Barca and Southampton.
No 2 keeper Willy Cabellero and a trio of Academy graduates Alexi Garcia, Pablo Maffeo and Angelino will all be in contention along with youngsters Leroy Sane and Kelechi Iheanacho.
