Celta Vigo vs Ajax Amsterdam - Peter Bosz won't let in-form Ajax take foot of the pedal

Ajax coach Peter Bosz is targeting his side's 10th win in a row as they prepare to meet Celta Vigo in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Amsterdam side have improved dramatically after a difficult start to the season, and simply avoiding defeat in Spain will bolster their position at the top of Group G.

But Bosz is adamant Ajax will look to maintain their superb winning run and claim a result which would all but guarantee their place in the knockout stages.

Bosz told Dutch media: "If you look at our position, not losing is a good result, but we want to win every match and we will not change that.

"We experienced a difficult start to the season, with our dreadful (Champions League) elimination to Rostov, but it is wonderful to see the football slowly getting better.

"We have done it the way we want it with possession and accompanied it with good results. Winning nine times in a row is something every coach dreams of."

Ajax are set to be without Lasse Schone and Kenny Tete, both of whom have picked up foot injuries.

Celta Vigo saw their five-match winning run in all competitions brought to crashing end by a 5-0 thrashing at Villarreal on Sunday.

Coach Eduardo Berizzo admitted he requires a huge reaction from his side, who go into the game with one win and a draw from their opening two group games.

Berizzo told the Spanish media: "Nothing pointed in advance to us playing so bad (on Sunday). It is the most painful defeat I have suffered since I became coach here.

"But awaiting us is a tough game in which we need to be mentally strong. We must fight and get a good result, and prove to the fans this was no more than one bad game."

Celta are expected to be without former Feyenoord striker John Guidetti, who has an ankle injury.
