Pep Guardiola is looking to raid his old club Bayern Munich for star left-back David Alaba.
The Sun reports that the Spaniard is eager to lure the Austrian to Manchester City and has reportedly opened talks regarding a transfer in the next summer window.
It is understood that City chiefs have held meetings with Alaba's representatives over the past two weeks and the Premier League club are putting together an offer for the 24-year-old.
Guardiola has informed the club he wants new full-backs and is keen to sign a player he worked with at the Allianz Arena for three years and who he rates as one of the best left-backs in the world.
Alaba, who can also play in central midfield, would cost City around £40million.
He signed a new five-year deal, worth £75,000 a week, with the German giants in March but City are planning to double his wages if he were to make his way to the Etihad Stadium.
