Bradford AFC vs Southend United - Bradford striker James Hanson hoping to return against Southend

Posted Monday, October 17, 2016 by PA

Bradford striker James Hanson is hoping to return to action in the home game against Southend.

Hanson has been restricted to just four league appearances this season due to calf problems and has missed the last six matches but he returned to full training on Monday and is expected to feature.

James Meredith is doubtful after twisting his lower leg in Saturday's defeat at Oxford so Matt Kilgallon could make his first league start for the club at left-back.

Fellow defender Tony McMahon (thigh) is still out, while winger Filipe Morais is among those pushing for a recall.

Southend manager Phil Brown is expected to field an unchanged side at Valley Parade.

The Shrimpers beat Chesterfield 1-0 on Saturday and Brown has no fresh injury or suspension concerns.

Ryan Inniss will hope to feature after he was an unused substitute at the weekend.

Southend currently sit 19th in Sky Bet League One and are looking for their first win on the road since August.
