Roberto Rosales salvaged a point for Malaga with a late equaliser at Alaves but their wait for an away win in LaLiga continues.
Trailing to Deyverson's fourth goal in seven matches as early as the ninth minute, the visitors struck with five minutes to go when Rosales found the top corner from outside the penalty area.
While it earned Malaga a draw it meant their woeful run away from home went on with their last victory on the road recorded on March 19.
Alaves at least managed to hold on to this season's unbeaten home record but will have been disappointed not to win this battle of two mid-table teams having created the majority of chances.
The best came in just the ninth minute when Deyverson headed home a cross from Edgar Mendez.
Marcos Llorente then missed the target when presented with the chance to double the lead before Malaga suffered a blow when Diego Llorente was forced off with an injury midway through the half.
Deyverson and Mendez both had chances to extend Alaves' advantage before the break while Malaga's best opportunities fell to Juankar, Gonzalo Castro and Rosales.
After the break Theo Hernandez's effort from distance was saved while Victor Laguardia fired across the six-yard area as the home side sought to press home their advantage.
However, they were made to pay late on as Rosales struck before, in the 90th minute, Hernandez was sent off for a foul on Malaga's Ignacio Camacho and, moments later, Juanpi was dismissed as both sides finished with 10 men.
