Real Betis vs Real Madrid - Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane striving for improvements

Zinedine Zidane insists he is eager to learn as a coach despite the criticism he has faced this season as Real Madrid travel to Real Betis aiming for a first win in five matches.

Los Blancos began their LaLiga campaign with four straight wins but four consecutive draws in all competitions have led to questions over Zidane's role as head coach.

Although the Frenchman led Real Madrid to Champions League glory last season, following his appointment in January, pressure is mounting on the 44-year-old ahead of their clash at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.

However, Zidane believes hard work will help his side break their recent slump.

"I've never considered myself a great coach and I will never think of myself as the best coach," Zidane told Real Madrid's official website.

"I'm still young but I'm eager to learn. Coaching a club like Real Madrid brings with it complications but I always know that I have to do my best with my players. I won't comment too much on criticism and what people have to say about me.

"I have always accepted criticism. When I was a player, I was very critical of myself and it is the same now that I am a coach. I know what we must do and so do the players.

"More concentration is needed, more hard work in every department. Hard work is what is going to get us out of this unfortunate streak because the talent is there."

Playmaker James Rodriguez and defender Fabio Coentrao have stepped up their recoveries from injury after taking part in training on Friday but will not feature.

Sergio Ramos (knee ligament), Casemiro (leg fracture) and Luka Modric (knee) also remain sidelined, although Marcelo returns for second-placed Madrid following a calf injury.

Real Betis, aiming to return to winning ways following their defeat at Real Sociedad before the international break, are boosted by the return of striker Antonio Sanabria and goalkeeper Antonio Adan from a pelvis injury and illness respectively.
