Andorra 1 - 2 Switzerland: Switzerland made to work for victory by stubborn Andorra
Posted Tuesday, October 11, 2016 by PA
Switzerland eventually got past a stubborn Andorra side to go top of Group B thanks to a 2-1 win at Estadi Nacional.
The opener came from the penalty spot after Admir Mehmedi was brought down in the area which was converted by defender Fabian Schar.
Despite plenty of attempts on goal, the visitors finally got their second when Xherdan Shaqiri found Mehmedi to nod home with 13 minutes remaining as they looked to ease to victory.
But Andorra caused some concern through Alexandre Martinez's 25-yard strike in stoppage but Switzerland held on to maintain their 100 per cent start.
