Guardiola falls short of Mourinho's win record

There was even more than three points at stake for Pep Guardiola when Manchester City travelled to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and a 2-0 defeat spelt the end of a number of potential records.
Coming to a halt on six league wins from their first six games, and 10 in all competitions, meant that not only did the Citizens miss out on Spurs' 11 match win streak total that started their 1960/61 campaign, but also his great rival Jose Mourinho's best.
When dominating the Premier League with Chelsea in 2005/06, the imperious Portuguese boss oversaw nine consecutive victories including a win at White Hart Lane and a 4-1 smashing of Liverpool.

Furthermore, Carlo Ancelotti's six game winning streak as a coach in his first English season has now only been matched by the Catalan supremo, not beaten.
Manchester City themselves hadn't lost since Real Madrid turned them over in the Champions League semi-final in May, whilst Guardiola's previous defeat was a whole 215 days before when Mainz beat Bayern Munich.
There is no doubt a downturn for the coach to stew over during the international break, including the five goals conceded in two games having allowed in just six in their ten beforehand.
