Grimsby Town vs Hartlepool United FC - Josh Gowling in line for Grimsby return

Posted Thursday, September 29, 2016 by PA

Grimsby defender Josh Gowling could be ready to return for the Mariners' Sky Bet League Two clash with Hartlepool.

Gowling has been ruled of his side's last two games with a back complaint and Danny Collins has stepped in to take his place.

Boss Paul Hurst will give Gowling a late test before deciding whether to shuffle his starting line-up after two straight wins.

Other than Gowling, Hurst reported no new injury worries for the game.

Hartlepool boss Craig Hignett will be without Nicky Featherstone for the trip to Blundell Park as he starts a three-game suspension.

But Scott Harrison is back from a ban and could push for a place in the starting line-up.

Hignett is still without Rob Jones (hip), Matthew Bates (bone) and Michael Woods (calf), but they are all nearing a return to fitness.

Padraig Amond and Toto Nsiala are both in line to start against their former club.
