Shrewsbury Town vs Swindon - Shaun Whalley to miss Shrewsbury's game against Swindon with calf problem

Shrewsbury have been dealt an injury blow ahead of the visit of Swindon with the news that Shaun Whalley will be out for up to six weeks.

The winger suffered a pulled calf muscle during Tuesday night's home draw with Peterborough and had to be withdrawn midway through the second half.

Ivan Toney missed the point against Posh through suspension but the forward now returns to the reckoning for Shrews manager Micky Mellon.

Right-back Joe Riley is still struggling with a knee injury which has seen him miss the last three games.

On-loan defender Lloyd Jones could miss out for Swindon after he was forced off at half-time in midweek.

The Liverpool youngster will be assessed ahead of the trip on a muscle problem that limited the range of movement in his leg.

Sean Murray, who missed last week's win over Oldham with a foot injury, replaced Jones against Northampton and will hope to have done enough for a starting place after scoring Swindon's only goal in the 3-1 defeat.

Michael Doughty has given the 18th-placed Robins a boost by revealing on Twitter that he will return to training on Monday following surgery for appendicitis.
