Port Vale vs Coventry - Anthony Grant suspended for Port Vale's clash with managerless Coventry

Port Vale host managerless Coventry without the suspended Anthony Grant.

Grant received his fifth yellow card of the season during the home win against Millwall in midweek and the midfielder must serve a one-match ban.

Three players are in contention to replace the 29-year-old, with Michael Brown, Quentin Pereira and Seb Amoros all vying for the shirt. The trio all played for the reserves on Wednesday afternoon - a match that Vale boss Bruno Riberio attended - with Pereira on the scoresheet.

Sam Kelly, Rigino Cicilia, Francisco Kiko and Gezim Shalaj are also options for Ribeiro should he want to make changes elsewhere.

Technical director Mark Venus will take charge of Coventry following the resignation of boss Tony Mowbray.

Mowbray quit the club on Thursday after failing to win any of his 10 league matches in charge this season, with the Sky Blues bottom of the table.

Venus looks like having the same players available as against AFC Wimbledon in midweek and if he decides to make any changes to the starting line-up the likes of Lee Burge, Ruben Lameiras, Dan Agyei, Jodi Jones, Vladimir Gadzhev, Sam Ricketts and Andre Wright are available.

Andy Rose is close to a return after re-joining training but the trip to Vale Park may come too soon, while Chris Stokes and Kwame Thomas are still sidelined.
