Southend United vs Oxford United - Defender Jason Demetriou suspended for Southend's home game with Oxford

Southend will be without defender Jason Demetriou after he was sent off against Northampton.

That could see defender Anton Ferdinand come into the starting XI after returning to the bench following a hamstring injury.

Anthony Wordsworth is also in line to feature as boss Phil Brown could ring changes to his side ahead the visit of Oxford.

Nile Ranger is still recovering from an ankle injury but Ryan Inniss is pushing for a recall.

Oxford striker Kane Hemmings is pushing for a start after recovering from a calf injury.

The summer signing from Dundee came off the bench on Saturday.

Wes Thomas missed out at the weekend but is available for the trip after shrugging off a calf injury.

Curtis Nelson remains sidelined with a foot injury, while Rob Hall (knee) and Christian Ribeiro (ankle) are long-term absentees.
