Barnsley vs Aston Villa - Barnsley without duo for Aston Villa visit

Barnsley will be without Saidy Janko and Aidy White for the home game against Aston Villa.

Winger Janko, on loan from Celtic, missed the weekend defeat at Brighton due to a thigh injury and is expected to be out until after the international break.

Defender White missed out on Saturday due to a slight hamstring tear and is also doubtful to face former club Leeds next weekend, so Cole Kpekawa is likely to resume in his absence.

Fellow defender James Bree, an unused substitute at Brighton, is hoping to feature after overcoming his hamstring problem as the Reds look to bounce back from their first back-to-back league defeats since December.

Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo could recall Jack Grealish after he was suspended by the club for their 1-1 draw against Newcastle on Saturday.

The midfielder was also fined after a club investigation following his alleged attendance at a party in a Birmingham hotel last week, with the police reportedly called in the early hours.

Ross McCormack missed the draw against Newcastle but Villa are hoping he will return after resting a knock.

Ritchie De Laet is out for the season after suffering a serious knee injury having only arrived at the club in the summer from Leicester.
