Genoa 1 - 1 Delfino Pescara 1936: Pescara leave it late to secure draw at nine-man Genoa
Posted Monday, September 26, 2016 by PA
Nine-man Genoa held out to draw 1-1 against Pescara, who netted a late equaliser at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
Genoa went ahead early in the second half when Giovanni Simeone, son of Atletico Madrid coach Diego, marked his first Serie A start with a goal, finishing well at the near post.
The Rossoblu, however, were reduced to 10 men in the 74th minute when defender Edenilson, on loan from Udinese, collected a second yellow card.
Then just five minutes later, veteran Macedonia forward Goran Pandev, who had only come on at half-time, was sent off for dissent.
Eventually, the Delfini made their advantage count when, on 85 minutes, Rey Manaj scored from close range.
