Dunfermline 4 - 3 St. Mirren: Dunfermline hit back to edge seven-goal thriller
Posted Sunday, September 25, 2016 by PA
Dunfermline came from 2-1 down at half-time to beat winless and managerless St Mirren 4-3 in a thriller at East End Park.
Saints took the lead when John Sutton finished from Lewis Morgan's cut-back in the 31st minute. Five minutes before the break Nicky Clark headed Athletic level but Sutton restored the lead with a powerful shot just before the break.
Dunfermline equalised just after the hour through Andy Webster's bizarre own goal after keeper Scott Gallacher saved onto a post.
In the 77th minute, Clarke tapped home to put the hosts ahead but four minutes later Ryan Hardie's stunner levelled matters again.
Farid El Alagui won it five minutes from time when he intercepted a back-pass and swept the ball past Gallacher.
