Andrew Hughes is back in contention following his one-match suspension which saw him miss the 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United after he was sent off against Port Vale.

The 24-year-old defender, who joined Posh in the summer from Newport, is expected to replace Jerome Binnom-Williams who started the game at Bramhall Lane in Hughes' place.

Ryan Tafazolli could also be part of the squad after impressing in a few under-23 games as he recovered from an injury he picked up on the opening day of the season against Rochdale.

Brad Inman and Lee Angol are both sidelined due to ankle injuries and Jermaine Anderson is out for the season after he ruptured his ACL.

Walsall defender Joe Edwards starts his three-game suspension after being sent off in their win over Bolton.

The Saddlers lost their appeal against the dismissal meaning Edwards will sit out the trip to London Road as well as games against Scunthorpe and Millwall.

Isaiah Osbourne is battling a thigh injury which has left the midfielder sidelined for more than a month but boss Jon Whitney is hopeful he will return.

Florent Cuvelier is also fighting to be fit and has not featured since Walsall's 2-1 defeat to Charlton over a month ago.
