Greenock 2 - 1 Dunfermline: Quitongo strike snatches Morton's first win

Posted Sunday, September 18, 2016 by PA

Jai Quitongo's late strike secured a 2-1 win for Morton against Dunfermline and their first three points of the season.

Morton almost took an early lead when Quitongo burst into the box and slipped his shot under David Hutton, but Ben Richards-Everton hacked clear on the line.

They went ahead in the 24th minute when Gary Oliver skipped past a couple of challenges before driving low into the bottom corner from 18 yards.

Dunfermline hit back six minutes later after Callum Fordyce's shot was deflected into the net by Nicky Clark from eight yards out.

But Quitongo won it with six minutes left with a spectacular effort which crashed in off the underside of the crossbar from 10 yards
