Leganes vs Barcelona - Luis Enrique won't accept excuses as Barca aim to get back on track

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique claims there can be no excuses if his side are not prepared for the challenge which awaits them at Leganes on Saturday, when the champions look to avoid a second successive LaLiga defeat.

The Spanish giants were beaten 2-1 at home by newly-promoted Alaves last weekend, before producing the required response with a 7-0 thrashing of Celtic in the Champions League, when Lionel Messi bagged a hat-trick.

Despite a record of 10 wins from their previous 12 away games in LaLiga, Enrique is taking nothing for granted against Asier Garitano's men at Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

Leganes, based in the south-west of Madrid, were promoted to the Spanish top flight for the first time when they finished runners-up to Alaves.

Garitano's side won their opening LaLiga match away at Celta Vigo and then held city rivals Atletico to a goalless draw before losing 2-1 at Sporting Gijon.

While a kick-off time of 1pm local time may be considered somewhat unconventional for the champions, Enrique insists that should have no impact on how his side approach the match.

"We have to adapt (to the schedule). It is going to be the same for both teams," the Barcelona manager told a news conference.

"We don't look for excuses, we look for results."

Enrique added: "Leganes are a brave team and fearless despite being a newly-promoted side, they don't mind sitting tight and they like to pressure, as they showed in the game against Atletico."

With one eye on the upcoming visit of title rivals Atletico Madrid next Wednesday night, Enrique could look to rotate his squad following the demolition of the Scottish champions at Celtic Park, where Neymar and Luis Suarez were also on the scoresheet - although a similar strategy appeared to backfire against Alaves.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is likely to retain his place in goal having now recovered from the injury which saw Dutchman Jasper Cillessen play against Alaves.

"It is practically impossible for any player to play all 90 minutes in every game," Enrique said.

"We have seven games in 23 days and the objective is to win them all.

"From that perspective, we do what we can do to adapt and remain effective in terms of results and taking care of players."

Pepineros boss Garitano claims his side must have faith they can follow Alaves' example and pull off another shock victory over the champions.

"That result (against Alaves) in Camp Nou shows that nothing is impossible in football - of course we have a chance," Garitano said at a press conference.

"We have a game plan in each match, we do not think about who the clubs are and the differences in size.

"We convince the players that we can win. We have to convince the fans too, but they all believe, and that is important."
