Morton vs Dunfermline - Gunning set to make Morton debut against Dunfermline

Former Dundee United new boy Gavin Gunning will make his Morton debut against Dunfermline at Cappielow.

Mark Russell is suspended and injured quartet Derek Gaston (ankle), Conor Pepper (knee), Ricki Lamie (hamstring) and Michael Tidser (knee) are also absent.

Morton manager Jim Duffy said: "Dunfermline played well against Dundee United last weekend, but missing three penalties took all the focus off that.

"We showed how good we can be earlier in the season against Kilmarnock, Hamilton and Falkirk and it would be good to get back to that kind of form."

Dunfermline welcome Jason Talbot back after a two-game ban but Lewis Spence is suspended.

Goalkeeper Sean Murdoch is not yet fully over a wrist injury, but defender Nat Wedderburn is expected to be fit after a calf problem.

"We passed the ball really well against Dundee United and deserved something from the game," Dunfermline manager Allan Johnston said.

"Losing but playing well has happened a few times this season, so it is time to turn good performances into wins."
