Doncaster Rovers vs Newport County - Middleton doubtful for Newport clash

Doncaster midfielder Harry Middleton is an injury doubt for the home game against Newport.

Middleton was forced out of last week's 5-1 win at Morecambe with a muscle strain and was replaced by Aston Villa loanee Riccardo Calder.

Calder would be an obvious replacement, but teenager Tyler Garratt is also in contention. He returned as an unused substitute last Saturday after recovering from an ankle injury.

Boss Darren Ferguson still has a lengthy injury list as Paul Keegan, Luke McCullough, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair (all knee), Mitchell Lund (kidney), Craig Alcock (ankle), Gary McSheffrey, Niall Mason (both groin) and Mathieu Baudry (Achilles) all remain sidelined.

Defender Darren Jones should recover from a slight niggle to feature for Newport.

Exiles boss Warren Feeney has almost a full-strength squad to select from with only long-term absentee Lenell John-Lewis missing.

Veteran summer arrival Jon Parkin has scored three goals in two league games and will again lead the forward line.

Rhys Healey will hope to make a first start alongside Parkin having only appeared from the bench since his deadline-day loan move from neighbours Cardiff.
