Montella wants angry response

AC Milan manager Vincenzo Montella wants his players fired up for their Serie A clash with Sampdoria at Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Friday.
The Rossoneri suffered a 1-0 defeat to Udinese in their last league encounter and currently occupy 15th place in the standings after three games.
Montella is now expecting a response from his side when they travel to Genoa to take on fifth-placed La Samp.
"I'll know tomorrow after the game if I got a positive response," he told reporters. "You give your answers on the pitch. I never want to see a team that accepts the trend of the game, I expect to see anger, pride and responsibility as well as tactical and technical aspects.
"The lads were very disappointed by Sunday's defeat and they carry that disappointment with them. We need to be motivated and angry to face the next match."
Montella laid into his under-performing team after the result, but feels his reaction was justified.
"Was I harsh on the squad? I won't confirm or deny it, there are some things I never say publicly," he said.
"Some things are said to the team in private. I'm very outspoken with the players. I've seen a reaction after the Udinese defeat, it'll take pride to face this situation and wear this shirt.
"I know the history of Milan. This is a team that needs to grow, and to do that we need work and tactical certainties. That will let us play with more consistency."
