Dynamo Kiev vs Napoli - Dynamo Kiev look to follow Dnipro's example against Napoli

Dynamo Kiev will look to emulate the feat of fellow Ukrainian outfit Dnipro when they host Napoli in their Champions League Group B opener on Tuesday.

Dnipro secured a famous victory over the Partenopei in the semi-finals of the 2014-15 Europa League, winning 1-0 at home in the second leg for a 2-1 triumph on aggregate.

Regarding last season's Serie A runners-up, Dynamo forward Andriy Yarmolenko, quoted on his club's official website, said: "Of course, I have watched a few Napoli games.

"And I have seen that this team like to control the ball and have a good line of attack. They are a balanced team.

"But Dnipro last year have shown how they can be overcome. I think this is a good example for us."

Although Napoli lost prolific star striker Gonzalo Higuain over the summer to Juventus, they have made a decent start to their 2016-17 Serie A campaign, taking seven points from three games.

Their last two matches, a 4-2 home win over AC Milan and Saturday's 3-0 success at Palermo, have seen forward Jose Callejon score a brace in each, and boss Maurizio Sarri has emphasised the Spain international's importance to his team.

But when asked after the Palermo result if Callejon was the heir to Higuain, Sarri was keen to play down such talk.

Sarri, quoted by Gazzetta dello Sport, said: "He (Callejon) is a very strong player, tactically he is crucial for us, and every now and then he scores goals with ease.

"But his role and characteristics are different to Higuain.

"You cannot ask him to score a goal per game.

"He has always had constructive periods, and he can score a few more goals than last season (seven in Serie A), but he is definitely not a penalty-box striker."
