Stade Rennais FC 2 - 0 Caen: Wesley Said opens Ligue 1 account as Rennes see off Caen

Posted Monday, September 12, 2016 by PA

Striker Wesley Said's first Ligue 1 goal put Rennes on course for a 2-0 win at home to Caen.

The 21-year-old, who made his first-team debut three years ago before subsequently being loaned out to Ligue 2 sides Stade Laval and Dijon, struck just two minutes after half-time.

However, victory was not secured until the third minute of added time when Sanjin Prcic, an 88th-minute substitute for Yoann Gourcuff, converted Paul-Georges Ntep pass after a quick break.

Victory, the second in succession at home, saw Rennes leapfrog their opponents n the table.
