Guingamp 1 - 1 Montpellier: Guingamp held at home in Ligue 1 by Montpellier
Posted Sunday, September 11, 2016 by PA
Guingamp remained unbeaten in Ligue 1 this season but will have been frustrated not to take all three points against Montpellier after a 1-1 draw.
Sloan Privat went close twice in three minutes for Guingamp but Montpellier broke away to take a 10th-minute lead when Ryad Boudebouz led a quick breakaway and sent Morgan Sanson clear to finish.
The hosts drew level in the 36th minute when Yannis Salibur and Thibault Giresse combined well to set up Marcus Coco to score. It was Guingamp's seventh shot at that stage, to one from Montpellier.
Privat and Boudebouz threatened for their respective sides before Coco was denied a late chance to win it - he appeared to be fouled after a rapid break but nothing was given.
