Peterhead 2 - 0 Queen's Park: Peterhead end long wait for win

Posted Sunday, September 11, 2016 by PA

Second-half goals from Jamie Redman and Nicky Riley gave Peterhead a first Ladbrokes League One win of the season as they beat Queen's Park 2-0.

Darren Miller squandered the opportunity to put the visitors ahead when he smashed his ninth-minute penalty against the crossbar after midfielder Kevin Dzierzawski fouled Paul Woods in the area.

Midfielder Redman got on the end of Steven Noble's corner to head the opener past goalkeeper Andrew Murphy two minutes into the second half.

Forward Riley then took advantage of a defensive mistake from Ryan McGeever to double the lead with 61 minutes played and put Peterhead on course for a first league victory since mid-March.
