Brechin vs Airdrie - Ex-Diamond hoping to shine against former club

Brechin add former Airdrie man Chris O'Neil to their squad for the Diamonds' visit to Glebe Park.

Andy Jackson is also available after a knock kept him out of the 5-1 defeat to Dunfermline in the Irn-Bru Cup last Saturday.

Another former Airdrie favourite Alan Trouten will miss out with a groin injury as player/manager Darren Dods looks for normal service to be resumed following that heavy loss.

"We had gone six months without losing a home game however that record was lost last weekend in a poor fashion as we gifted goals away," he said. "We are now looking to start a new run against an Airdrie side who will want to pull level with us."

Airdrie are without Iain Russell after he was dismissed in last Sunday's 3-2 extra time Irn-Bru Cup defeat to Ayr.

Diamonds head coach Kevin McBride will delay finalising his side to give Adam Brown, Jack Leitch and Kevin Schmidt the chance to shrug off injuries.

McBride said: "I am not getting taken in by Brechin's result last weekend. They are usually very strong at home and do not lose many goals so I think that was a bit of a one off.

"We have got it in us to go there and win and that is what we will be looking to do but it will be far from easy."
