Plymouth Argyle vs Cambridge United - Plymouth striker Jimmy Spencer fit to face former club

Plymouth striker Jimmy Spencer is set to shrug off a leg problem in time to face former club Cambridge at Home Park on Saturday.

Spencer picked up the injury in the seventh minute of last week's win over Cheltenham but boss Derek Adams is confident he will be fit.

Spencer scored six goals for Cambridge at the end of last season, but is yet to open his account for the Pilgrims.

But Adams is still set to be without left-back Gary Sawyer, who has not recovered from the groin strain he picked up against Blackpool in August.

James Dunne is unavailable for Cambridge as they aim to secure their first league win of the season.

The midfielder was stretchered off in the closing stages of last week's game against Mansfield and could be sidelined for a month.

Adam McGurk returned to action off the bench during the draw at Mansfield and could start, while Harrison Dunk (hamstring) returned to training midweek but Saturday's trip could be too soon for the winger.

George Maris suffered a relapse in his recovery from injury and will remain out, along with long-term absentees Barry Corr and Elliot Omozusi.
