Mansfield Town vs Barnet - Stags trio hope for starting spots

Pat Hoban, James Baxendale and Jamie McGuire will hope to come into Mansfield manager Adam Murray's thinking for the visit of Barnet.

None of the trio have started a league game for the Stags this season but all three players got some much-needed minutes under their belts this week when the Under-21 side defeated Rotherham as they look to force their way into Murray's starting line-up.

Danny Rose has completed his three-match suspension but the striker is likely to remain on the sidelines after suffering a fractured eye socket in the Checkatrade Trophy tie with Doncaster.

Defender Kyle Howkins (hamstring) also sustained an injury against Rovers and is likely to remain unavailable along with midfielders Chris Clements (hamstring) and Jack Thomas (groin), who are both stepping up their recoveries but Saturday will come too soon.

Barnet boss Martin Allen will bring back Luke Gambin who missed last week's abandoned trip to Newport after being called up by Malta for the World Cup qualifier against Scotland.

And Ben Tomlinson is set to keep his place in the Bees' line-up after impressing Allen in what was his first start of the season against the Exiles.

Fumnaya Shomotun, Wesley Fonguck and Joe Payne are among those who could come into contention if Allen decides to shuffle his squad.

But Barnet are still without Nana Kyei (foot), Bira Dembele (ribs) and Tom Day (concussion).
