Reading vs Ipswich - Swift return for Reading

Reading could have midfielder John Swift available following a hamstring problem for the visit of Ipswich on Friday night.

Swift missed international duty with England Under-21s as he continued his rehabilitation with the Royals, so he will be assessed.

The likes of midfielder Stephen Quinn, defenders Paul McShane and Chris Gunter, Jamaica forward Garath McCleary and Liechtenstein international Sandro Wieser have all reported back with no fresh injury concerns.

Latvia striker Deniss Rakels is sidelined following surgery on an ankle injury, while forward Yakou Meite is also still recovering from his ankle ligament problem.

Ipswich expect to have on-loan Everton midfielder Conor Grant back from his groin injury.

Forward Leon Best, who joined as a free agent, should be fit following a minor ankle problem.

Wales midfielder Tom Lawrence is likely to be included after signing for the Tractor Boys on a season-long loan from Leicester and Tommy Smith looks set to retain his place at centre-half.

Foward David McGoldrick and on-loan Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams (both ankle) continue their recoveries, while midfielder Luke Hyam may need surgery for an ongoing knee problem.
