Andorra 0 - 1 Latvia: Valerijs Sabala scores as Latvia edge out Andorra in World Cup qualifier

Valerijs Sabala's header just after the break secured a 1-0 away win for Latvia over Andorra in their World Cup qualifying opener.
The hosts, who have not won a match since 2004, came close to going in front a minute before half time when Ludovic Clemente headed against the bar.
Having survived that scare, Latvia then grabbed the lead three minutes into the second half as Sabala nodded past goalkeeper Ferran Pol.
Andorra's Ildefons Lima produced a fine strike from distance in the closing stages, but Latvia stopper Andris Vanins made the save.
